| Reporting: | None required but if parents are brought into court on truancy charges, they must introduce evidence that their children are receiving “equivalent instruction” and are not truant. |

| Requirements: | Provide instruction academically equivalent to that of public schools. In addition to language arts, math, and science, public schools are required to teach (1) a two-year course in high school in US and New Jersey history; (2) a one-year elementary school course in community civics, citizenship, and New Jersey civics, geography, and history; and (3) 2.5 hours per week in health, safety, and physical education each year.
