 Approach: Provide an alternative educational experience for the child so that child is “otherwise comparably instructed.” Considered to be a private school.
   
 Restrictions: Teacher certification not required
   
 Reporting: None required
   
 Recordkeeping: None required
   
 Requirements: Subjects required to be comparable to those taught in the public school, generally language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and a variety of other subjects such as fine arts, health and physical education. Attend a period of time equivalent to that of the public school.
   
 Testing: None required, but homeschooled students may participate in statewide tests along with public school students.
   
 Compulsory  Attendance: Applies to children who have attained the age of 7, but not the age of 16.
